Washington Heights Lang Youth Readiness for Involvement in the Academic Environment

The Washington Heights Lang Youth Readiness for Involvement in the Academic Environment project was funded as supplement to the center, originally lead by our founding director, Olveen Carrasquillo, and Marina Catalozzi, MD, Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics.

Minorities are underrepresented in the Health Sciences. The Lang program recruits middle school students at the end of the 6th grade who are interested in science and health care. The program takes place every Saturday during the school year, for one month during the summer. The Lang Youth Medical Program (Lang Youth) actively recruited from all middle schools in Washington Heights. [More]
